This course is intended to improve your understanding of GAPs to guide assessment of risks and implementation of practices to reduce risks on fresh produce farms.

  • How GAPs impact produce safety?
  • Why become GAP certified?
  • Learn about Harmonized & Basic GAPs
  • How does this apply to my farm operation?

Thursday, April 11, 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM
  • Begin writing a food safety plan that compiles with a USDA GAP Audit for your farm with help from New York State Agriculture & Markets. (BRING A LAPTOP COMPUTER)

NOTE: Taking this course will not result in your farm being "GAPs Certified". GAPs certification is done by a third- party (e.g. USDA, Primus, Global GAP) and involves the successful completion of an on-farm audit.
