2014 NYS Dry Bean Field Meeting

Tour the Cornell dry bean variety and breeding line trial*. Cornell professors will share research-based ideas on pest issues and management including bacterial diseases and Western bean cutworm updates. Changing bean plant architecture to improve yields will also be discussed. 0.75 DEC pesticide recertification and CCA credits will be available.

A light supper will be provided. A full agenda is provided below.

Cost: $5 for Cornell Vegetable Program enrollees; $10 for all non-enrollees. Pre-register by contacting Angela Parr by September 15. Payment of cash or check will be accepted at the meeting.

* Directions to Tom Corcoran Farm, 1302 McEwen Rd, Caledonia, NY 14423
From Caledonia, drive south on Rt. 36 about 3 miles. Turn right/west onto Black Street Rd. and continue just under 3 miles to McEwen Rd. Turn left/south on McEwen Rd. and continue half a mile to Tom Corcoran's farm on the right. Drive in the lane south of his house and park near the barn. Walk up the lane to the Cornell variety/breeding line trial.
