Vegetable Disease Management - In Field Management Scenarios

Cornell Plant Pathologist, Dr. Christine Smart, will be onsite to talk about best crop production practices for managing and controlling vegetable diseases. An update on local diseases currently affecting vegetable crops in Western NY farms along with hands-on demonstrations on identifying the pests and scouting - where, how and when - will be covered. Information will be provided for both conventional and organic growers on best management practices for disease management and identifying issues that may improve or decrease disease control. Robert Hadad and Darcy Telenko, Extension Associates with the Cornell Vegetable Program will also instruct participates and facilitate participants in discussion as we tour fields in the area.
