New Farm Manager Skills Day - Get the Tools You Need to Grow Your People
Moving from being an individual contributor to overseeing and directing the work of other people can be a big change. Let us help make it easier. Join Liz Higgins of the Eastern NY Commercial Hort Team and Isabella Yannuzzi of CCE Dutchess County for a one-day program to practice skills and make connections that can help you in your role as a supervisory farm manager.
- Becoming a manager (skills specific to managing others)
- Giving feedback and communication - embrace your role as a coach
- Resources for Farm Managers and Employers (Cornell Ag Workforce Development, NYS DOL, NYS Ag Mediation)
- Onboarding new employees - tips for getting new workers off to a good start
- Your responsibilities as a manager (legal and ethical) and dealing with challenges
After the program attendees will have access to a shared message group to help you connect with each other for support during the season. Lunch will be included.
This program draws from the Cornell Ag Workforce Development Ag Supervisory Leadership Certificate Program.

2026 Winter Cut Flower Webinar Series

The fifth annual CCE Cut Flower Webinar Series begins on January 6, 2026 and continues over 5 weeks on Tuesdays. This is a very popular series of online events you won't want to miss, with topflight speakers, a wide variety of subjects concerning growing cut flowers and plenty of interaction between speakers and attendees.
Tuesdays 1pm-3pm January 6, 2026 - February 3, 2026 (The webinar held on February 3 will run 1pm-4pm)
Cost: $60.00 for all five sessions, $20 for single sessions
Webinars will be recorded, and all the recordings will be sent to registrants for future review.
