Blind Industry White Wine Tasting Workshop

Blind Industry White Wine Tasting Workshop

This event is a blind wine tasting for ENY grape industry members to get feedback from fellow growers and Cornell Enologists on unfinished white wines (hybrid, vinifera, etc.) We respectfully request that only professional winemakers or commercial vineyard owners attend, as space is limited. Limit two wines per winery/vineyard.

Pre-registration is required and ends on January 14th.  For questions, please contact Jeremy Schuster at jds544@cornell.edu

Note for participants: This workshop is designed to provide constructive feedback on unfinished wines and suggestions on what to do with the wine if anything. Some feedback may be challenging to receive. However, all feedback will be asked to be constructive and provide possible solutions. Non-constructive or disrespectful input will not be tolerated, and participants who do so will be asked to leave. The objective of this workshop is to be critical of the wines, not the people, to improve the wines of the region.

Please email the following information to Jeremy Schuster at jds544@cornell.edu once you have registered:

  • Name of participant(s)
  • Winery
  • White Wines they plan to bring (limit 2)
    • Cultivar
    • Style (Dry vs sweet, blend vs varietal)
    • Parameters (harvest numbers, fruit quality, winery techniques)
    • Fermentation comments
