This program is for fruit and vegetable growers who need Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) certification or GAPs/HGAPs (Good Agricultural Practices/ Harmonized Good Agricultural Practices) training required by buyers (i.e. 3rd-party food safety audits based on a written food safety plan) or if you are just interested in learning about produce safety.
Over the course of the training, certified Produce Safety Alliance trainers will cover content contained in these seven modules:

Marion Zuefle, NYS IPM, will review and demonstrate how to scout for sweet corn pests and identify major sweet corn insect pests. John Wallace, Cornell, and Bryan Brown, NYS IPM, will discuss major weed biology, identification, and weed management tools in vegetables. The Cornell Vegetable Program's Darcy Telenko will lead a crop walk and talk about early season pest monitoring and management options. And Robert Hadad, Cornell Vegetable Program, will provide an update on FSMA ad implications for the 2018 season.
