Through this full-day day course on Effective Orchard Spraying growers will learn how to improve their timeliness and therefore apply sprays when needed and not be forever chasing the calendar. Correct application at the correct time will allow growers to make better use of their spray over the season.
English Session- Special Permit Training for Pesticide Handlers

This training is for English speakers.
We will again hold training programs so that DEC can issue "special permits" to these non-certified applicators that work under the supervision of a private certified applicator. This "special permit" will enable trained workers to apply restricted-use pesticides to tree fruit for the 2016 season without "direct, on-site supervision". These DEC "special permits" are being made available to assist individuals who have difficulty taking English written tests and are therefor not certified.
Supervisor Requirements: The supervising certified applicator is required to attend the beginning portion of the English Speaking session.
Registration Must be completed by Thursday, March 31, 2016. No walk-ins will be taken.

Come join Jim O'Connell and Laura McDermott of the Cornell Cooperative Extension Eastern NY Berry Team at Christopher Jacobs Winery at Pennings Vineyards, on June 22, 2016, where they will present the preliminary results from the Haskap berry trial.
In addition to learning about Haskaps, growers will also learn about general site selection for berry crops.
